The Old Haberdashers’ Golfing Society welcomes golfers of all standards, whether members of a golf club with an official handicap or occasional social players. Currently we have 50 members with handicaps ranging from 3 to 36 and we are keen to increase this substantially over the next 12 months.

The club holds 3 Golf Days each year as well as competitions against other Old Boys teams, the School, other golf clubs and a pub! The Golf Days (Spring, Summer and Winter) are open competitions where all members are welcome and involve stableford (individual and team) competitions.

The matches against other teams are managed by a member who selects his team from those members available.

The low handicapped members also play in the annual national Public Schools Old Boys competition, the Grafton Morrish, where our team reached the last 16 in 2006, 2009 and 2010.

The Society is trying to attract new members and to encourage contemporaries to contact each other and to come to some or all of the Golf Days. Please see the contact details below.

The 2013 Season

The Society has 12 fixtures scheduled again for the forthcoming season…..from foursomes at Hunstanton and the Old Cholmeleians Festival; individual and team stableford at the Spring, Summer and Autumn Meetings, to a series of match play events against other Old Boys, the School / Staff and local golfing societies. Opportunities exist to increase the number of fixtures but this can only realistically happen if the number of regularly playing members  increases……… ”Your Golfing Society Needs You!!”

To this aim, I am pleased to announce that, with immediate effect, the Society will be delighted to welcome non - Old Haberdashers, if proposed by an existing OHGS member. Please let me know any friends who you feel would enjoy being an active part of the OHGS and I will arrange for all the details to be sent by e-mail.

I look forward to seeing you all during the course of the season.
